Question
Match the following with correct response.

- 1-B, 2-D, 3-A, 4-C
- 1-C, 2-B, 3-D, 4-A
- 1-A, 2-C, 3-B, 4-D
- 1-D, 2-A, 3-C, 4-B
Hint:
Dobereiner arranged the elements in triplets.
Newland made a law in which he arranged the elements with eight elements in each column.
Mendeleev arranged the elements with the weight.
In modern periodic table the elements are arranged in order of decreasing size.
The correct answer is: 1-B, 2-D, 3-A, 4-C
The correct option is a)1-B, 2-D, 3-A, 4-C.
Döbereiner's triad was an early attempt to arrange elements in logical order and quantity based on their physical properties. They are analogous to the groups of the modern periodic table.
In 1864, British chemist John Newlands set out to discover the 62 elements known at the time. He arranged them in ascending order of atomic mass and found that every eighth element had similar properties. Based on this observation, Newland's octave law was formulated. The law of octaves dictates that every eighth element has similar properties when the elements are arranged in ascending order of atomic mass.
Mendeleev corrected the known atomic masses of some elements and used patterns in his periodic table to predict the properties of elements predicted the existence of some elements which will be later discovered.
In the modern periodic table, elements are arranged in ascending order of atomic number. Atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus. The number of protons defines the identity of the element (ie an element with 6 protons is a carbon atom, regardless of how many neutrons it has).
