Question

State whether the following are true or false.
(i). Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe but is only available in very few quantities.
(ii). Commercially the hydrogen gas can be prepared by electrolysis of water.
(iii). The Bosch process can also prepare Hydrogen from natural gas, which contains ethane as the main ingredient.

hintHint:

Hydrogen is present in water and 75% of the earth is covered with water.
The formula of water is H2O.
Bosch process needs an allotrope of carbon .

The correct answer is:

    The correct option is c).
Hydrogen is more abundant than any other element, accounting for about three-quarters of the mass of the universe. Hydrogen is an element, usually in gaseous form, consisting of protons and electrons.
Electrolysis is a promising choice for carbon-free hydrogen production from renewable and nuclear sources. In electrolysis electricity is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This reaction takes place in a unit called an electrolyser.
The starting ingredients of Bosch reaction are carbon dioxide and hydrogen that produces a recycling of elemental carbon (graphite), water and 10% of the heat invested. This reaction requires iron as a catalyst and requires a temperature level of 530-730 degrees Celsius.
