Seasons are times of the year that have particular weather patterns and day lengths. The characteristics of the four seasons—winter, spring, summer, and autumn—can differ greatly.
Depending on the location on the Earth, the seasons will change. The temperature in areas close to the equator is relatively stable throughout the year, with mild winters and hot summers. According to the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) programme; because of its location on the outer curve of the Earth, it receives relatively consistent light from the sun.
The seasons can vary more dramatically in regions to the north and south. Winters may be icier and more bitterly cold for people living nearer the poles, while summers may be hotter for those living nearer the equator.
The tilt of the Earth toward the sun is what causes the seasonal cycle. The planet revolves around an axis that cannot be seen. The northern or southern axis is nearer to the sun at various periods during the year. During these times, the hemisphere inclined toward the sun experiences summer, while the hemisphere tilted away from the sun experiences winter.
