Question

725 balls are in a basket. If 425 balls are taken out from the basket, then the number of balls left in the basket are________.

  1. 305
  2. 300
  3. 503
  4. 400

hintHint:

In the basket there were total 725 balls, 425 balls were taken out of the basket. So to find the number of balls left in the basket we will subtract the number of balls taken out from total number of balls. For this we will arrange 425 below 725 and start subtracting from right to left i.e. 5 from 5 , 2 from 2 and 4 from 7. And thus the result obtain will be the number of balls left in the basket.

The correct answer is: 300

Total number of balls in the basket = 725 balls
Number of balls taken out of the basket = 425balls
725 balls
- 425 balls
__________
300 balls
Therefore, total number of balls left in the basket = 300 balls.
