      1gallon = 128oz
      half a gallon = 128 over 2 = 64oz
      Now 12 Fluid ounces costs 3$. So cost of 1 fluid ounces = 3 over 12= 1 fourth $ .
      So Cost of 64Fluid oz = 64 over 4 $ = 16$
