We have to given 6 litres of water in $1 half$ litre water bottle
So, For number of people we will divide total volume of water to volume of water in one water bottle.
Number of people to get $fraction numerator 1 over denominator 2 end fraction$ liters of water from 6 liters = $6 divided by fraction numerator 1 over denominator 2 end fraction$
$6 cross times 2 equals 12$ persons.
