Question

Amit parks his car for 144 hr, and Nan parks her car for 145 hr. Does Nan pay more? If so, how much more?

  1. Yes, by $ 25
  2. No
  3. Yes, by $ 50
  4. Yes, by $ 75

hintHint:

Multiplication is the process of finding the product of two or more numbers.

The correct answer is: No

    Here, it is given that Amit parks his car for 144 hours and Nan parks his car for 145 hours. We have to find if Nan paid more money that Amit given that parking charge of first 24 hours is $50 and $25 for each additional 24 hours.
    Amount paid by Amit = 50 + {(144 - 24)/24 × 25}
    = 50 + 125
    = $175.
    Amount paid by Nan = 50 + 6 × 25
    = 50 + 150
    =$200.
    So, Nan paid $25 more than Amit.
    Hence, the correct option is D.

    Total cost of parking is directly proportion to the number of each 24 hours.
