Question

Ben was also given 8 trays of eggs to examine. If each tray has10 eggs, the total eggs Ben examined is?

  1. 80
  2. 50
  3. 40
  4. 30

hintHint:

We are given that Ben has 8 trays of eggs for examination. Each tray has 10 eggs. We have to find the total number of eggs. For this question, we will have to multiply the number of trays and eggs to find the total number.

The correct answer is: 80

The of number of trays is 8.
The number of eggs per tray = 10
We have to find total number of eggs.
    So, we can write
Total number of eggs = Number of eggs × Number of trays
    = 10 × 8
    = 80
Therefore, Ben has to examine 80 eggs in total.

For such questions, multiplication is used. We can also add the number of eggs  8 times. But, multiplication makes it simple.
