Question
Find the area of the given figure?
125 sq. cm
203 sq. cm
78 sq. cm
200 sq. cm
Hint:
Divide the figure into rectangles and find the area of rectangles.
The correct answer is: 203 sq. cm
At first, we will divide the given figure into two rectangles. The left side rectangle is considered as rectangle Y and right side rectangle is considered as rectangle Z. We have to find the areas of rectangle seperately. For rectangle Y: Length = 5 cm Breadth = 25 cm Area of rectangle Y= 5 × 25 =125 sq. cm For rectangle Z: Length = 18 - 5 = 13 cm Breadth = 25 - 19 = 6 cm Area of rectangleZ = 13 × 6 = 78 sq. cm The total area of the required figure is the sum of the areas of rectangles Y and Z. It is calculated as: Total area = 125 + 78 Total area = 203 sq. cm So the total area given figure is 203 sq. cm.
