 Irregular shapes are those shapes that do not have equal sides or equal angles. In order to find the area of an irregular shape, it can be decomposed or divided into multiple familiar shapes and then the area of those can be added to get the total area. 

The correct answer is: 52 sq cm

    The above given figure is an example of irregular shapes.
    Thus, we divide the above shape into a rectangle of sides 3cmcross times 8cm and another rectangle of side 4cm cross times7cm

    Area of a rectangle = 3 × 8 = 24 sq. cm
    Area of rectangle = 4 × 7 = 28 sq. cm
    Total area = 24 + 28 = 52 sq. cm
