      The above given figure is an example of irregular shapes.
      Thus, we divide the above shape into a rectangle of sides 9unit cross times2unit, rectangle of side 4unit  cross times 6unit and another rectangle of side 3unit cross times2unit.
      Thus, total area = (9 cross times2) + (4 cross times 6) + (3cross times2)='18 + 24 + 6 =  48square units
