Question

Find the slope of the line that passes through:
(2, -2) and (4, 8)

  1. 4
  2. -3
  3. 5
  4. -4

hintHint:

Given the points ( x1 , y1 ) and ( x2 , y2 ) slope of line that pass through it will be
m equals fraction numerator y subscript 2 minus y subscript 1 over denominator x subscript 2 minus x subscript 1 end fraction

The correct answer is: 5

    Given points (2, -2) and (4, 8).
Slope formula m equals fraction numerator y subscript 2 minus y subscript 1 over denominator x subscript 2 minus x subscript 1 end fraction
Step 1 : Substitute points in the formula we get slope.
    = 8 - (-2) / 4 - 2
    = 10 / 2
    = 5
So , m=5 is the slope of the line .

With the help of points calculate slope using the formula .
