Question

Match the function p(x) = 3x to the graph.

hintHint:

We will substitute the points on given graphs to find which graph represents the given function.

The correct answer is:

    GIVEN-
    p(x) = 3x
    TO FIND-
    Graph of the given function.
    SOLUTION-
Since we have a function representing exponent of 3, the solution of y-coordinate can never be negative because 3 raised to any power cannot be negative.
    Hence, options c & d are eliminated.
    For x = 1, p(x) = 31 = 3
Hence, the graph of p(x) should have point (1,3) on it.
Hence, option a is also eliminated as it does not have (1,3) on the graph.
Hence, option b is the correct option.
    FINAL ANSWER-
Option 'b' is the correct answer to the given question.
