  1. 1340
  2. 1350
  3. 1360
  4. 1370

hintHint:

1. When a certain quantity is divided into 100 equal parts and a certain part of it is to be expressed in terms of the whole quantity, that portion is called as a percent, represented with a % sign.
2. Percentage people who prefer walking = Number of people who prefer walking / Total people surveyed * 100.

The correct answer is: 1350

    Given-
Percentage people who prefer walking = 40%
Number of people who prefer walking = 540
    To find-
    Total people surveyed
    Solution-
    We know that-
Percentage people who prefer walking = Number of people who prefer walking / Total people surveyed * 100
    ∴ 40 = 540 / Total people surveyed * 100
    ∴ Total people surveyed = 540 * 100 / 40
    ∴ Total people surveyed = 1350
Final Answer- Option 'b' i.e. '1350' is the correct answer to the given question.
