Question

Round the decimal in the figure to its nearest tenths.

  1. 0.2
  2. 0.3
  3. 0.4
  4. 0.1

hintHint:

We have to find the decimal number showed in the figure and then round off it to nearest tenth. At first we will start with finding the decimal number formed in figure, considering all boxes together to be a whole 1 we can see that only 32 boxes is colored so the number formed will be 0.32. Further we will round off the tenth place which is first digit on right of decimal point as the number after 3 is 2 so the 3 will remain as 3.

The correct answer is: 0.3

    decimal number formed = 0.32
rounding off to nearest tenths = 0.3
