Question
Solve the system:
2x - 5y = 5
y = 4
- y = 4
- (12.2, 2)
- (12.5, 2)
- no solution
Hint:
Here we have to solve the system. Given equations are, 2x – 5y=5 and y = 4. Use the basic concept and solve this question by substitution method.
The correct answer is: (12.5, 2)
Here we have to solve the system.
Firstly , we are given with equation which is ,
2x – 5y = 5 ---(1)
y = 4 --(2)
Use substitution method,
Put y = 4 in equation (1) , we have
2x – 5y = 5
2x – 5 x 4 = 5
2x – 20 = 5
2x = 5 + 20
2x = 25
x = 12.5
Therefore, x = 12.5 and y = 4.
The correct answer is ( 12.5 , 4).
In this question, we have already given the value of y. Using substitution, method we are easily to solve this particular problem.
