Question
Solve the system:
3x - 5y = 4
y = 1
- y = 4
- (3, 1)
- (4, 1)
- no solution
Hint:
Here we have to solve the system. Given equations are, 3x – 5y = 4 and y = 1. Use the basic concept and solve this question by substitution method.
The correct answer is: (3, 1)
Here we have to solve the system.
Firstly , we are given with equation which is ,
3x – 5y = 4 …(i)
y = 1 …(ii)
Substituting y from (ii) in (i), we get
3x – 5(1) = 4
3x - 5 = 4
x = 3
Therefore, x = 3 and y = 1.
The correct answer is ( 3 , 1).
In this question, we have already given the value of y. Using substitution, method we are easily to solve this particular problem.
