Question

Solve the system:
3x - 5y = 4
y = 4

  1. y = 4
  2. (8, 5)
  3. (8, 4)
  4. no solution

hintHint:

In this question, we are given two system of equation , we have to find the value x and y. Make two equation , if (a1/a2) = (b1/b2) = (c1/c2) then it is infinitely many solutions, if  (a1/a2) = (b1/b2) ≠ (c1/c2) and if (a1/a2) ≠(b1/b2) then it is unique solution.

The correct answer is: (8, 4)

    Here we have solve the system of equation and find x and y.
    Firstly , we are given,
    3x - 5y = 4
    and y = 4.
    3x – 5y = 4 …(i)
    y = 4 …(ii)
    Substituting y from (ii) in (i), we get
    3x – 5(4) = 4
    3x - 20 = 4
    x = 8
    Therefore the system of equation of (x, y) is (8, 4).

    In this question, we have to find the system of equation.
