The equation 3x – 6y – 2 = 0 in slope-intercept form is

$y = - \frac{1}{2} x - \frac{1}{3}$
$y = - \frac{1}{2} x + \frac{1}{3}$
$y = \frac{1}{2} x - \frac{1}{3}$
$y = \frac{1}{2} x + \frac{1}{3}$

Equation of a line, when its slope and intercept is given can be given as- y = mx + b, where m = slope and b = y-intercept.

The correct answer is: $y equals 1 half x minus 1 third$

GIVEN-
3x – 6y – 2 = 0
TO FIND-
Equation of the given line in slope intercept form.
SOLUTION-
3x – 6y – 2 = 0
∴ -6y = -3x + 2 .................... (Subtracting 3x and adding 2 on both sides)
∴ y = -3/-6 x + 2 / -6
∴ y = 1/2 x - 1/3
FINAL ANSWER-
Option 'c' i.e. 'y = 1/2 x - 1/3' is the correct answer to the given question.
