TO FIND-
Number of squares in the given grid
SOLUTION-
From the given diagram, we observe that we can form squares of dimension '1*1', '2*2' and '3*3'.
1*1 dimension squares- 12 smallest squares.
2*2 dimension squares- 4 squares from each of the side corners (left & right) and 2 squares in the centre.
3*3 dimension squares- 2 squares from each of the side corners (left & right).
∴ Total number of squares in the given grid = 12 + 6 + 2 = 20
