Question
Answer the following with the help of the data:
5, 5, 6, 6, 10, 15, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 45, 50
What is the interquartile of the data?
- 25
- 24
- 26
- 30
Hint:
The interquartile range is the difference between the third quartile and the first quartile
The correct answer is: 24
Here, we have to find the interquartile of the given data.
We have, number of terms = 13, which is odd.
So, median = term
term
= 7th term
= 15.
Now, lower quartile = 6.
And, upper quartile= 30.
So, interquartile = upper quartile - lower quartile
= 30 - 6
= 24.
lnterquartile range = Third quartile – First quartile.
