Question

When a sphere has a volume of 972π, the radius of the sphere is ______________.

  1. 9
  2. 7
  3. 18
  4. 21

hintHint:

Use the formula of volume of sphere.

The correct answer is: 9

    given that:
    volume of sphere =  972π
    To find:
    radius of the sphere =?
    Solution:
    We have to find the radius of the sphere whose volume is given which is 972π.
    We can find the radius of sphere using formula of volume of sphere
    V = fraction numerator 4 over denominator 3 space end fraction πr3
    Put the given values is above formula
    972π = fraction numerator 4 over denominator 3 space end fraction πr3
    972 cross times space 3 over 4 = r3
     729 = r3
    r = 7
    The radius of the sphere is 7.
