Question
Write a linear equation in slope-intercept form of a line with a slope of 12 and y-intercept of 10.
- y=12x-10
- y=10x+12
- y=12x+10
- x=10x-12
Hint:
Given the slope of line as m and intercept as b .
the Equation of line will be y = mx + b .
The correct answer is: y=12x+10
Given the slope of line = 12 which is m
And intercept = 10 which is our b value
Step 1 : Using the slope and y-intercept of the line to write the equation of the line.
Slope-intercept from of equation of a line is y = mx +b
Step 2 :
⇒ y = 12x +10 [substituting 12 for m and 10 for b]
So , y = 12x +10 is the equation of line with slope = 12 and intercept = 10 .
Equation of line in slope intercept form is
y = slope.x + intercept .
