Question

A fish tank is in the shape of a cube . Its volume is 125 Cubic feet . What is the area of one face of the tank ?

hintHint:

Find the edge length of the cube and then find the area of one face of the tank.

The correct answer is: 25 ft^2

    Complete step by step solution:
Volume of the cube shaped fish tank = 125 cubic feet…(i)
Let the side of fish tank = x
We know that the formula for volume of a cube = x cubed…(ii)
On equating both, we get x cubed equals 125
Now take cube roots on both the sides, we have x equals cube root of 125
not stretchy rightwards double arrow x equals 5 ft
We know that a cube is a three dimensional shape made of 6 equal squares.
Hence area of one cube face = x2
