Find the simple interest and the amount on Rs. 4,000 at the rate of 8% per annum for 146 days?

    Complete step by step solution:
    We calculate simple interest by the formula,S I equals fraction numerator P T R over denominator 100 end fraction…(i)
    where P is Principal amount, T is number of years and R is rate of interest
    Let the sum of money P = 4000 Rs
    Here, we have T equals 146 text  days  end text equals 146 over 365 equals 0.4 years, R = 8% and P = 4000
    On substituting the known values in (i), we get S I equals fraction numerator 4000 cross times 0.4 cross times 8 over denominator 100 end fraction
    not stretchy rightwards double arrow S I equals fraction numerator 4000 cross times 0.4 cross times 8 over denominator 100 end fraction equals 128
    We have SI = 128 Rupees.
    We know the formula for total amount = A = P + SI…(ii)
    where  is the total amount,  is the principal amount and  is simple interest.
    On substituting the known values in (ii), we get A = 4000 + 128 = 4128
    Hence the simple interest after 146 days = 128 Rupees.
    And total amount to be paid after 146 days  =  Rupees.
