Solve the following equations by using the elimination method: x - y = 1 , 3x - y = 9

    Step 1 :- find x by eliminating y
    Eliminating x by subtracting  eq 2 - eq1 then

     rightwards double arrow x space equals space 4
    Step 2 :- substitute value of x and find y

     therefore space y space equals space 3
