Question

A metal container on the form of a cylinder surmounted by a hemisphere of the same radius. The internal height of the cylinder is 7 m and the internal radius is 3.5 m, Calculate the internal volume of the container in cubic meter ?

hintHint:

Volume of cylinder equals pi r squared h.

The correct answer is: 359.18

    Explanation:
    • We have given a cylinder is surmounted by a hemisphere with same radius. Height of the cylinder is 7mnd internal radius is 3.5m
    • We have to find the internal volume of the container.
    Step 1 of 1:
The radius of the cylinder is 3.5m and the height is 7m
So, The volume of cylinder will be
    V equals pi r squared h
equals pi left parenthesis 3.5 right parenthesis squared cross times 7
    = 269.39
And the volume of the hemisphere will be

    V equals 2 over 3 pi r cubed

equals 2 over 3 pi left parenthesis 3.5 right parenthesis cubed

    =89.79m3
So, Total volume of the solid will be

    V equals 2 over 3 pi r cubed

equals 2 over 3 pi left parenthesis 3.5 right parenthesis cubed

    equals 89.79 m cubed plus 269.39 m cubed

    = 359.18m3
