Question

# Find the amount of Rs. 6000 lent from 18 th January 2006 to 12 th June 2006 at 9% per annum?

Hint:

### Find the total amount using the total amount formula.

## The correct answer is: 6214.5 Rupees

### Complete step by step solution:

We calculate simple interest by the formula,

where P is Principal amount, T is number of years and R is rate of interest

Here we have .

Here, T is from 18th January to 12 th June that is 145 days which is 0.39726 years

On substitution, we get

Formula for total amount = A = P + SI,

where A is the total amount, P is the principal amount and SI is simple interest .

We have

On substitution, we get A = 6000 + 214.5 = Rs 6214.5

Hence 6214.5 Rupees was the total amount.
