Question

Find the perimeter of the triangle ABC.

hintHint:

Find the coordinates of vertex A ,B and C . Using these points find the length of sides of the triangle by using distance between two points formula. Then add the side lengths to get the perimeter of the triangle.

The correct answer is: The perimeter of given triangle is 22.971 units

ANS :- The perimeter of given triangle is 22.971 units
    Explanation :-
    Given A(8, 8), B(2, 2) and C(14, 2)
Using distance formula finding side lengths
AB =  square root of left parenthesis 8 minus 2 right parenthesis squared plus left parenthesis 8 minus 2 right parenthesis squared end root equals square root of 6 squared plus 6 squared end root equals 6 square root of 2 text  units  end text equals 8.4853 text  units  end text
AC = square root of left parenthesis 8 minus 14 right parenthesis squared plus left parenthesis 8 minus 2 right parenthesis squared end root equals square root of 6 squared plus 6 squared end root equals 6 square root of 2 text  units  end text equals 8.4853 text  units  end text
BC = square root of left parenthesis 8 minus 14 right parenthesis squared plus left parenthesis 2 minus 2 right parenthesis squared end root equals square root of 6 squared end root equals 6 text  units  end text
    Then we get perimeter of triangle ABC = AB +BC +AC =  +  + 6
    = 22.971 units
∴ The perimeter of given triangle is 22.971 units.
