Question

Find the width of a 10 m long rectangular court if its boundary is 34 m.

hintHint:

Given , the width and perimeter of the rectangle .Substitute both values in the perimeter of the rectangle formula to get the length of the rectangle .

The correct answer is: Therefore, The width of the rectangular court is 7 m .

ANS :- The width of the  rectangular court is 7 m .
    Explanation :-
Let the width of the rectangle be b .
    Given , length of rectangle is 10 m (i.e l = 6)
Perimeter of rectangle is 34 m
    Then we get area of rectangle = 2( L + b)

not stretchy rightwards double arrow 34 equals 2 left parenthesis 10 plus b right parenthesis

not stretchy rightwards double arrow b plus 10 equals 17 not stretchy rightwards double arrow b equals 17 minus 10
not stretchy rightwards double arrow b equals 7 m
Therefore, The width of the rectangular court is 7 m.
