Question

Line t is a transversal that cuts parallel lines l and m. Express each angle in terms of x.

hintHint:

find the relations of all angles using corresponding angles and vertically opposite angles property and express each angle in terms of x.

The correct answer is: ∠2 =∠4 =∠6 =∠8 = 180 °-x and ∠1 =∠3 = ∠5 = x .

    Explanation :-
As we know corresponding angles are equal then
    we get ∠1 =∠3  , ∠2 =∠4, x =∠5 and ∠6=∠8
As we know vertically opposite angles are equal
    we get ∠1 = x , ∠2=∠8, ∠3 =∠5 and ∠4 =∠6
    From above equations we get ∠1 =∠3 = ∠5 = x and ∠2 =∠4 =∠6 =∠8
As we know, the sum of angles in a straight line is 180° . We get
    ∠2+x = 180 then ∠2 = 180 °-x
    Therefore we get ∠2 =∠4 =∠6 =∠8 = 180 °-x and ∠1 =∠3 = ∠5 = x
