    In this question we have to extend the line MB such that it connect to the circle making a secant.

    By using the theorem, we can say that 
    M B squared space equals space M L space cross times space M J
    In this question we are given that MB = x , ML = 1 and MJ = 4 and we have to find x
    x squared space equals space 1 space cross times space 4
    => x space equals space 2
    So, the value of x is 2
