Question
Solve the following linear equation for y.
-y+7y-54 = 0
- y = 0
- y = 1
- y = 6
- y = 9
Hint:
The equation is the statement of equality between two expression consisting of variable and/or numbers. In this question you have to find y first show both side is equal which is also given and then later remove constant form Left hand side perform same operation on right hand side .
The correct answer is: y = 9
Here we have to find the solution of equation : – y + 7y – 54 = 0
We are given the equation,
– y + 7y – 54 = 0
For solution , we have to find the value of y.
– y + 7y – 54 = 0
6y – 54 = 0
6y = 54
y = 9
In this question , to solve the equation you have to find the value of y, for finding just eliminate the number of constant of y side. The equation is the statement of equality between two expression consisting of variable and/or numbers. The expression is having equal sign is called equation. Apply same methods to find solutions.
