The area of the elliptic quadratic with the semi major axis and semi minor axis as 6 and 4 respectively

We are given an ellipse. We have to find the quadratic area of the ellipse. We are given the values of semi major axis and semi minor axis.

The correct answer is: 6 pi blanksq units


    The length of semi-minor axis is 4 units.
    The length of semi-major axis is 6 units.
    An ellipse is symmetric about both the semi major and semi minor axis.
    When the major and minor axis intersect, they divide ellipse into 4 equal parts
    Quadratic area means we have to find area of one of the part.
    Area of an ellipse = pi a b
    Here a and b are the length of semi-major and semi-minor axis.
    So, quadratic area of ellipse = 1 fourth × area
    = 1 fourth× pi a b
    1 fourth x 6 cross times 4
    = 6pi sq units.
    The quadratic area of an ellipse is 6pi sq. units.
