On a particular day, the rain fall recorded on a terrace 6 m long and 5 m broad is 15 cm. Find the quantity of wat er collected on the terrace.

A cuboid is a solid 3 dimensional figure with six-faces, 8 vertices and 12 edges. Its faces are rectangles.

Volume is the capacity of a certain object to carry or hold another objects within i.e. the amount of space that the object holds. Volume of a cuboid = length $cross times$ width $cross times$ height.

1 $m cubed$ = 1,000 L

The correct answer is: Quantity of water collected on the terrace is 4.5 m3 or 4,500 L

From the given information, we get- Terrace is in the shape of a cuboid.
We need to find the quantity of water collected in the terrace with the given dimensions.
∴ Volume of the given cuboidal terrace = Length $cross times$ breadth $cross times$ height
∴ Volume of the given cuboidal terrace = 6m $cross times$ 5m $cross times$ $15 over 100$ m ............................ (1m = 100 cm)
∴ Volume of the given cuboidal terrace = 4.5 $m cubed$ .
or Volume of water collected = (4.5 $cross times$ 1,000) l = 4,500 L.
∴ Quantity of water collected on the terrace is 4.5 $m cubed$ or 4,500 L.
