Once the potential energy is defined, does the mass change?

Potential energy= mass x gravitational acceleration x height.
Considering the height of the object be constant,
Potential energy  mass
Thus, potential energy changes with the change in mass.
But, once the potential energy is defined the mass of the object cannot be change.
