Final velocity, v = 60 m/s

Time taken, t = (50 – 15) s = 35 s

From the second equation of motion, we have

s = ut + ½at^{2}

Or, s = 0 x 35 + ½ (12/7) (35)^{2}

Or, s = (6/7) (1225)

Or, s = 1050 m

Therefore, the maximum distance covered by the ball is 1050 m.
