Y= 5-2X
Y= $fraction numerator 3 X over denominator 2 end fraction minus 2$

find x by substituting y (in terms of x) in the equation and find y by substituting value of x in the equations.

The correct answer is: x = 2 and y = 1

Ans :- x = 2 ; y = 1
Explanation :-
y = 5 - 2x— eq 1
$y equals fraction numerator 3 x over denominator 2 end fraction minus 2 minus text eq end text 2$
Step 1 :- find x by substituting y = 5 - 2x in eq 2.
$5 minus 2 x equals fraction numerator 3 x over denominator 2 end fraction minus 2 not stretchy rightwards double arrow 5 plus 2 equals 2 x plus fraction numerator 3 x over denominator 2 end fraction$
⇒ 7 $x over 2$ = 7 ⇒ $x over 2$ = 1
⇒ x = 2
Step 2 :- substitute value of x and find y
⇒ y = 5 - 2x ⇒ y = 5 - 2 (2)
⇒ y = 5 - 4
∴ y = 1
∴ x = 2 and y = 1 is the solution of the given pair of equations
