Question

# Suji and Anu are making smoothies that have the same number of fluid ounces. Suji uses 4 containers of ice cream to make her smoothie and she prepares 6 ounces of juice in total. Anu uses 2.5 containers of ice cream to make her smoothie and she prepares 12 ounces of juice in total. How many Ounces of Ice-Cream is in each container?

Hint:

### ○ Form the equation according to given information..

○ Take variable values as x or any alphabet.

○ Solve the equation to get value of x.

## The correct answer is: ⇒ x = 4

### ○ Given:

Suji:

Ice cream container used = 4

Juice prepared = 6 ounces

Anu:

Ice cream container used = 2.5

Juice prepared = 12 ounces

○ Step 1:

○ Let us consider container contain x ounce of ice cream.

First consider case of Suji

smoothi prepared is

∴ 4x + 6

Now consider case of Anu

smoothi prepared is

2.5x + 12

○ Step 2:

○ Equate the amount of smothi

4x + 6 = 2.5x + 12

4x - 2.5x = 12 - 6

1.5x = 6

x =

x = 4

- Final Answer:

Hence, each container contain 4 ounces of icecream.
