Question

Suji and Anu are making smoothies that have the same number of fluid ounces. Suji uses 4 containers of ice cream to make her smoothie and she prepares 6 ounces of juice in total. Anu uses 2.5 containers of ice cream to make her smoothie and she prepares 12 ounces of juice in total. How many Ounces of Ice-Cream is in each container?

hintHint:

○ Form the equation according to given information..
○ Take variable values as x or any alphabet.
○ Solve the equation to get value of x.

The correct answer is: ⇒ x = 4

    ○        Given:
    Suji:
Ice cream container used = 4
    Juice prepared = 6 ounces
    Anu:
Ice cream container used = 2.5
    Juice prepared = 12 ounces
    ○ Step 1:
    ○ Let us consider container contain x ounce of ice cream.
    First consider case of Suji
    smoothi prepared is
    ∴  4x + 6
    Now consider case of Anu
    smoothi prepared is
    rightwards double arrow2.5x + 12
    ○ Step 2:
    ○ Equate the amount of smothi
    4x + 6 =  2.5x + 12
    rightwards double arrow4x - 2.5x = 12 - 6
    rightwards double arrow1.5x =  6
rightwards double arrowx = fraction numerator 6 over denominator 1.5 end fraction
    rightwards double arrowx = 4
    • Final Answer:
Hence, each container contain 4 ounces of icecream.
