Question

The circumference of a circle is 28.3 cm. Find its radius and area.

hintHint:

Given the circumference of  the circle .Find the radius of the circle by using the formula circumference of circle  and substitute r in the area of circe formula.

The correct answer is: The area of the circle is 63.585 sq. m.

ANS :-  Radius of the circle is 4.5 m and  area of the circle is 63.585 sq. m
    Explanation :-
Given, circumference of circle  = 28.3 cm
let the radius of circle r
Step 1:- Find the radius of circle
Then we get circumference of circle 2 pi r

    28.3 equals 2 pi r

not stretchy rightwards double arrow r equals fraction numerator 28.3 over denominator 2 pi end fraction not stretchy rightwards double arrow r equals fraction numerator 28.3 over denominator 2 cross times 3.14 end fraction

not stretchy rightwards double arrow r equals 9 over 2
not stretchy rightwards double arrow r equals 4.5 straight m
The radius of the circle is 4.5 m.
Step 2 :- Find the area of the circle from the radius.
Then we get area of circle = pi r squared
equals 3.14 cross times 4.5 cross times 4.5
    equals 63.585 straight m squared
The area of the circle is 63.585 sq. m.
