Question

The required staff to student ratio for an excursion is 2 : 15. If 10 teachers attend the excursion, what is the maximum number of students who can attend?

hintHint:

Unitary method: The unitary method is a method in which we find the value of a unit and then the value of a required number of units. For example, If 10 apples cost is 100 rupees, 1 apple will cost 10 rupees and if we are asked to find the cost of 100 apples, we can find it by multiplying 100 with the cost of 1 apple.

The correct answer is: 75 students

The teachers to students for an excursion ratio is given as 2:15 or we can write
fraction numerator text  No.of teachers  end text over denominator text  No.of students  end text end fraction equals 2 over 15
We are asked to determine the maximum number of students who can attend an excursion if 10 teachers attended the excursion.
So, fraction numerator 10 over denominator text  No.of students  end text end fraction = 2 over 15
No. of students = fraction numerator 15 cross times 10 over denominator 2 end fraction = 75 students.
    Final Answer:
Hence, the maximum number of students who can attend an excursion is 75 students.
