International applicants are advised to start their application process at least one year before admission to provide the necessary time for submitting required tests, academic documents, and immigration-related matters.

  • Completed application  
  •  Non-refundable application fee payment. 
  • Official High School transcript sent directly from the school (first year only) 
  • Official college transcript(s) from all postsecondary schools attended (transfer and graduate applicant) 
  • Official results of standardized exams ( SAT, ACT, GRE, SMAT), if required by the university/ the intended academic program. 

All International students must process additional documents to verify and evaluate their academic records via a NACES member, where additional information, including essays and recommendations, may be required. They must process an International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA), among others additional program-specific requirements. 

Howard University’s tuition fee is much cheaper than the national average tuition cost—starting with a non-refundable $45 application fee and $28,916 for both tuition and fees ( library, gym, student center, labs, and health center) paint an affordable fee structure.

Howard University accepts its applicants based on standardized exams like SAT, AC, GRE, and SMAT. Even during an influx of applications, Howard University keeps its acceptance rate to a minimum of 35% through the regular application and a 54% acceptance rate through early applicants.

An average SAT Score of 1130 -1260 is necessary for effortless admission procedures for those who gave their SAT  during the application procedure; similarly, an average ACT score of 22 – 26  from those applied through ACT scores for the same.
