Saint Peter’s College, is a private Jesuit educational institute situated in Jersey City, New Jersey. By the fall of 2020, it has a total enrollment of 2,355 students in undergraduate courses. The semester-based academic calendar is followed by the institute.

Saint Peter’s College

In 1872, it was founded as Saint Peter’s College by the Society of Jesus, thus making it a Catholic University. It is a co-educational institution for both undergraduates and graduates. The college has two campuses, expanded across an area of over 30 acres. The main campus is just 8 km west of New York, while the other campus runs in collaboration with the Bergen Community College named Meadowlands Campus. Saint Peter’s college comprises five educational establishments, seven lodging apartments, managerial centers, and sporting space. Other facilities include a coffee shop, cafeteria, bookstore, swimming pool, gymnasium, computer lab, library, and weight room. The campus also provides housing facilities for the on-campus students. The college offers more than 60 undergraduate and graduate courses having more than 2,600 undergraduate and 800 graduate students. Co-education came into the premises around 1966. It was granted the status of University in March 2012 by the State Secretary for Higher Education, New Jersey, and thus on August 14, 2012, the college has accredited with the status of Saint Peter’s University. It is one of the twenty-seven Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and is the only one in New Jersey. The institute holds a wide variety of students, not only from the States but also from all around the world. For instance, about 88% of the full-time undergraduates belong to New Jersey, while the remaining 9% are from other States and the other 4% are from other countries. The list of Saint Peter’s Alumni is vast and diverse, spreading throughout all the available fields of work, ranging from arts, government officials, entertainment sector, business, sports, law, professor, etc.

Saint Peter’s College has 58.3% of classes with lower than 20 students. It has a student-faculty ratio of 12 students per faculty member. Biology/Biological Sciences, General; Business Administration and Management, General; Criminal Justice/Safety Studies; Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse; Computer and Information Sciences, General; Accounting; Psychology, General; Marketing/Marketing Management, General; Speech Communication and Rhetoric; and Sports, Kinesiology, and Physical Education/Fitness, and other are some of the major courses of Saint Peter’s College. The college also offers pre-professional programs in collaboration with many prestigious institutes such as the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Rutgers University, Seton Hall University, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).
