About Texas A and M University:

This university is the only terrestrial, marine, and space-granting institution in Texas. It was also permitted to join the Alliance of American Universities in 2001. SAT & ACT Requirements for TAMU:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas A&M University decided to waive the SAT or ACT score requirement from the first-year application process in 2020. Additionally, they decided to continue this temporary test-optional policy for the admissions seasons. It is unknown at this time whether the school will require test scores once again from prospective students. High test scores will only help candidates. Therefore the Texas A&M admissions staff advises students who have taken the SAT or ACT to submit their results. Low test results won’t affect admissions decisions, the institution said. The average SAT score of admitted students is 1275, even though the college does not have a minimum SAT or ACT score requirement for admission. SAT scores range from 1180 in the 25th percentile to 1390 in the 75th percentile. Accordingly, if you receive a score of less than 1180, you will perform worse than the majority of admitted students, and if you receive a score of more than 1390, you will perform better.

Texas A&M University Out-of-State Acceptance Rate:

Because the admissions data that is currently available does not divide acceptance rates by geographic origin, it is difficult to determine what percentage of students attend Texas A&M University who are not from the state in which the university is located. One could make the case that a sizable percentage of Texas A&M students are legal residents of the state. Even though 94% of the student body is from Texas, only about 6% of the student body is comprised of students from outside of Texas. 6% of these students are from different regions within the United States, while the remaining 1% are students from other countries. There are probably some financial considerations involved in Texas A&M’s decision to accept so few students from other states. The institution has reasonably priced tuition, estimated at $13,012 for in-state students to pay for the fall and spring semesters of 2022 and 2023. After factoring in the costs of textbooks, housing, transportation, and other incidental expenses, the annual tuition for a student who lives in Texas and attends Texas A&M University is $32,026. On the other hand, out-of-state tuition is significantly more expensive at $40,896 per year. The annual cost for out-of-state students at the institution is around $61,310 after accounting for the aforementioned extra costs, roughly double the cost for Texas residents.

GPA for Texas A&M:

The typical first-year applicant to Texas A&M had a 3.68 high school grade point average. This indicates that to be a competitive applicant to the college, students must get essentially As and a few Bs in their high school courses. Additionally, most first-year students admitted to Texas A&M in the 2019 admissions cycle (56.6%) had graduated from high school in the top 10% of their class. Despite this, Texas A&M does not set a minimum GPA requirement for enrollment in the first-year class. On the other side, transfer students experience a slightly different admissions process. To be eligible for admission as transfer students at Texas A&M, candidates must have completed at least 24 hours of graded, transferable coursework with a 2.5 GPA.
