Academic Life at University of California–San Diego

  • There are eight total prompts in the 2021-22 cycle, with applicants encouraged to react to four of them. Each submission is limited to a maximum of 350 words.

Note that the yield rate at UC-San Diego was 17 percent, which is the percentage of accepted students who choose to enroll divided by the total number of admitted students. This is significantly lower than the yield rates of several other elite public institutions, like UT-Austin (46 percent), UNC-Chapel Hill (45 percent), and UGA (45 percent).
