The University of California is a selective institute with a UCSD acceptance rate of 36.6%. As a new applicant, the student must attain a high school certificate (or equivalent) and fulfill the following UC admission conditions:

parallel
  • Subject Necessity
  • Scholarship Provision
  • Individual Insight Inquiries
  • Portfolio Reviews

You will have a huge level of competition in meeting these conditions, and it does not ensure your admission. Learners conceded to UC San Diego surpassed minimum UC admission requirements. UC San Diego will not regard UCSD SAT scores or ACT scores as a characteristic in admissions judgments.

UCSD GPA Requirements

Students need to fulfill specific criteria and have a UCSD average GPA to be eligible for UC San Diego. The conditions are as follows:

parallel
  • Students from California  must accumulate a GPA of 3.0 (or better) with no grade lower than “C.”
  • Students who are Non-California residents & International applicants must achieve a GPA of 3.4 (or better) with no degree lower than “C.”

Your GPA will depend on the above college prior (A-G) lessons taken during the 10th and 11th grades. Scholars admitted to UC San Diego have GPAs that exceed these minimums.

ACT/SAT Requirements

San Diego does not require any SAT or ACT scores for admission purposes. But if someone has impressive SAT or ACT scores, they can be considered when admitted to this university. But still, they will judge you based on your school’s average score where the SAT scores are included.

parallel

Therefore, it is suggestive to take as many SAT and ACTs as possible to get easy admission to this university. The average SAT score you need to have to make your UCSD less competitive is 1360 on the 1600 SAT scale. Therefore, take as many tests as possible to increase your scores and secure your admission to the University of California- San Diego.

This University has adopted the test blind policy for those who have applied in the fall of 2021 cycle and then extends through 2025. In the case of the 2021 Class, the mid 50% ranges are 1280-1460 on the SAT and 26-33 score on the ACT. They have included a new SAT score analysis for which the 75th percentile new SAT score is 1470.

parallel

So, if you score 1250 on the new SAT range, you will get below the average range. On the other hand, if you have a sat score of 1470, it will place you above the average range. To be more accurate, UCSD has a scoring policy of “ All Scores.” Therefore, you need to send all the SAT scores you have ever appeared for.
