The University of Florida is ranked among America’s top 5 public universities. The university was founded in 1853. The University of Florida is located in Gainesville, Florida and has been operational here since 1906. This university has been a member of AAU (the Association of American Universities) since 1985. University of Florida: An Overview

University of Florida: Admission Requirements

The University of Florida acceptance rate is 38.5%. This indicates that the university is very selective in admitting students. The applicants have to maintain a high GPA score and also have a high SAT or ACT score.  

For Freshman applicants, the requirements are:

  • Graduation from an accredited or recognized secondary school or equivalent.
  • Must have completed 16 academic units- 4 years of English, 4 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Natural Science with laboratory practice, 3 years of Social Science, and 2 years of a foreign language.
  • The Grade Point Average of C at all institutions where the application has done courses
  • For dual enrolment, a minimum of 2 GPA is needed.
  • Proof of good conduct
  • The university will super score the SAT or ACT scores. It means that if the applicant has taken the exams more than once, the highest scores will be taken. 

Admission process: International Applicants

The University of Florida is home to more than 3,000 students from other countries. The following are some of the different conditions that must be met in order for overseas students to be admitted here:

Undergraduate students

  • Have to submit scores of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12
  • Must have a high score in ACT or SAT
  • For English proficiency, the applicant must have taken TOEFL-iBT or IELTS. The score of TOEFL must be 80 or more. The score of IELTS must be 6 or more.

Graduate Students

  • Students must have completed a 3 or 4-year undergraduate degree or a Master’s Degree from a recognized college or institution.
  • Work experience.
  • As per the course requirement, the applicant must have taken these standardized tests- LSAT, MCAT, and GRE. 
  • The minimum score for TOEFL iBT should be 80. The minimum score for IELTS should be 8. The score for GRE verbal should be 140. 

The full-time MBA program 

  • The candidate must have completed a 4-year undergraduate or equivalent from a recognized university or institution. 
  • Work experience
  • Must take the GMAT test
  • Must have taken TOEFL or IELTS for English Proficiency

University of Florida: Tuition fees for International Students

The USD 30 application fee, which is not refundable, must be paid by applicants who wish to be considered for admission to any undergraduate or graduate program. It is possible that certain professional training programs have a special application price.

The cost of each individual course determines how much the yearly tuition is. The following information is intended for students from other countries:

  • Undergraduate programs- the course fee ranges from USD 28,000 to 30,000
  • Master of Science/Master of Arts programs-the course fee ranges from USD 30,000 to 32,000
  • MBA programs- the course fee ranges from USD 60,000 to 63,000

The tuition fee does not include other ancillary charges. So, the total annual fee will be higher when these extra charges are added to the tuition fee. So, applicants seeking admission here must be prepared for the University of Florida Tuition fee.
