Testing the basic school-level skills among the students to assess their college readiness, the test requires dedication and hard work among students. For a change, the SAT has now gone online, and candidates are required to take digital SAT tests. Explore the digital SAT test pattern to decide your own preparation strategy for the test.

How Many Questions on Digital SAT?

The digital SAT questions are based on two different sections: the Reading and Writing section and the Mathematics section. Each section has two separately timed modules. Here is the section-wise breakdown of a number of questions:

parallel

Reading and Writing

Each of the first and second modules offers 25 operational questions and 2 pretest questions for 32 minutes each. Therefore, there are 54 questions in total to be attempted in a total of 64 minutes.

The section asks distinct four option multiple choice questions. The stimulus topics are literature, humanities, science, history, and social studies. The questions may also contain tables, bar graphs, and line graphs testing the candidates’ analytical skills.

parallel

Mathematics

Each of the first and second modules offers 20 operational questions and 2 pretest questions for 35 minutes each. Therefore, there are 44 questions in total to be attempted in a total of 70 minutes.

The section asks distinct questions: Around 75% are four-option multiple-choice questions, and the remaining 25% are student-produced responses or SPR questions. The stimulus topics cover science, social science, and real-world topics.

How Do You Prepare for Questions on the Digital SAT?

With clear information on how many questions on digital SAT, now is the time to understand the exam process. Here is what you must consider:

  • Familiarity with the digital platform

With the mind working under pressure, a completely new scenario to take the test tends to overwhelm the mind, subsequently losing calmness. Hence, familiarity with the exam app is highly recommended. The digital testing app allows candidates to take a tour of the exam app and get familiar with the available options on the app and test-taking functions. The candidates can also attempt sample questions to understand the answering mechanism.

  • Practice

For acquaintance with exam patterns, understanding the time requirements for solving questions, pacing up their speed, and deciding the approach to attend questions on the Digital SAT, practice is critical. Students have multiple resources for their preparation, which include

  • Sample test questions with answer explanations
  • Full-length adaptive digital SAT practice test
  • SAT suites question bank (SSQB)
  • Test implementation and classroom practice guides
  • SAT practice with Turito

What is the Content Domain of Digital SAT Questions?

The digital SAT questions belong to four discrete content domains for each section. Understand the expectations of candidates and how many questions on digital SAT in each section:

Candidates are suggested to accurately use the phrases and high-utility words and ensure proper relation in their developed answers. They can expect around 13 to 15 questions.
  • Information and Ideas analyses candidates’ skills in locations, interpretation, evaluation, and information and ideas integration from both tests and graphs. Candidates must develop and present their central ideas and entail textual and quantitative command of evidence and generate inferences. They can expect around 12 to 14 questions.

Mathematics Section

It includes:

parallel
  • Algebra judges analytical skills, speed of solving, ability to generate linear equations and inequalities, and system of equations and solving them using multiple techniques. Focus on the different types of linear equations and their system. Expect around 13 to 15 questions in this domain.
  • Advanced methods measure the candidate’s ability to handle advanced concepts and courses. It will be judged through absolute value, polynomial, exponential, quadratic, radical, rational, and other nonlinear equations. The testing points will be nonlinear functions and equations and equivalent expressions from around 13 to 15 questions.
  • Problem-solving and data analysis assess students from quantitative reasoning about rates, ratio and proportion, unit questions, and the ability to interpret single and multi-variable data. It will include percentages, probability, and statistics in 5 to 7 questions.
  • Geometry and trigonometry will also be there to help students solve problems on area and volume, different shapes, angles, and trigonometry. Focus on circles and triangles and expect around 5 to 7 questions.

Conclusion

Digital SAT is an adaptive test model curated to test better on their abilities. The replacement of the bubble test method now allows students to take computer-based tests. With two modules in each section, candidates must understand how many questions on digital SAT and the type of questions in each section to develop their preparation strategy.
