An ice cream cone is in the union of a right circular cone and hemisphere that has the same base as the cone . Find the Volume of the ice cream if the height of the cone is 9 cm and radius of its base is 2.5 cm.

    • We have given An ice cream cone is in the union of a right circular cone and hemisphere that has the same base as the cone
    • We have to find Volume of the ice cream if the height of the cone is 9 cm and radius of its base is 2.5 cm.
    Step 1 of 1:
    The conical part and the hemispherical part have the same base, their radii will be same, ie
    r = 2.5cm
    Also,
    Height of the conical part of the ice cream equals 1 third pi r squared h

    equals 1 third pi left parenthesis 2.5 right parenthesis squared cross times 9
    equals 58.93 cm cubed
    Volume of hemispherical part of ice cream equals 2 over 3 pi r cubed

    equals 2 over 3 pi left parenthesis 2.5 right parenthesis cubed
    equals 32.73 cm cubed
    Therefore,
    Volume of ice cream

    = 32.73 + 58.93

    = 91.66cm3
