Question

A square garden has a boundary of 80 m. Find its area

hintHint:

Given , the boundary of square garden .Find the length of side of square garden and then Find the area of square by using general formula.

The correct answer is: The area of the square garden is 400 sq. m

ANS :- 400 sq. m should be the area of the square garden.
    Explanation :-
Step 1:- Find the length of side of square garden
Let the side length of the square garden be a then the perimeter of that square is 4a .
    Given , perimeter (or) boundary = 80 m
not stretchy rightwards double arrow 4 a equals 80 straight m not stretchy rightwards double arrow a equals 20 straight m
    ∴ a = 20 m
Step 2:- Find the area of square by using general formula
Area of square with side length a is a squared.
We get a = 20 m the area of square garden =  a squared equals left parenthesis 20 right parenthesis squared equals 400 m squared left parenthesis text  or  end text right parenthesis 400 text  sq.m  end text
∴The area of the square garden is 400 sq. m.
