Question

In the adjoining figure, two straight lines PQ and RS intersect each other at O. If then the values of a,b and c are .........., .......... and ..............

  1. 84°,21°,48°
  2. 21°,48°,84°
  3. 24°,48°,74°
  4. 48°,84°,74°

Hint:

In this question, we have to find the value of a, b and c. For that we will use the property of straight line i.e., sum of the angles formed in the straight line is always 180degree. We will find the value of a variable and later substitute in the other possible equation to find the value of other two.

The correct answer is: 84°,21°,48°

We know that the sum of angles of triangle is 180degree
As RS is a straight line
    So,4b+75 +b =180degree
    rightwards double arrow5b=105
    rightwards double arrowb=21degree
Also, PQ is a straight line
    So, a + b + 75 =180degree
    rightwards double arrowa + 21 =105
    rightwards double arrowa = 84degree
    And 4b + 2c =180degree
    rightwards double arrow84 + 2c =180
    rightwards double arrow2c = 96
    rightwards double arrowc = 48degree
    So, a=21degree, b=84degree and c= 48degree
